Definition:
MIS is a system or organized method of collecting, recording, processing, analyzing and disseminating program-related data and information, which helps management to take informed decisions. MIS is in fact a process that is intimately linked to information gathering, processing and analysis to improve performance of the organization.

Vision:
The MIS (RH-FP) is one of the data gathering agencies under HNPSP. It collects data from each and every household through a longitudinal record keeping system. There is a scope to generate i-PRSP/MDGs related indicators for monitoring the RH-FP activities.

Management Structure:
MIS Unit is working with three major components (i) Service Statistics (SS), (ii) Logistics Management Information System (LMIS) and (iii) Personnel Management Information System (PMIS).

Major activities:

System design of different sub-systems of MIS such as service statistics, personnel and logistics

Publication of monthly RH-FP report

Collection, computer processing of couple registration data, interpretation of data, report preparation and feedback

System design of Personnel Management Information System

Implement updated LMIS reporting formats

Publish LMIS monthly report and feedback

Monitoring and supervision of all family planning stores at different levels

Verify LMIS data inconsistency at different levels.
