Present Focus of Population Program


Ensure safe motherhood including Emergency Obstetrics Care (EOC) services with provision of Skilled Birth Attendants (SBA)

Increase male involvement in reproductive health especially in Family Planning;
Increase acceptance of long acting and clinical FP methods with male participation;
Increase acceptance of FP methods among low parity couples;
Special program for low performing areas including urban slums;
Increase nutritional status especially for women and children;
Reduce discontinuation of contraceptives;
Provisions of adolescent health care services in all service centers;
Encourage delayed marriage, delayed pregnancy & delayed first birth;
Ensure empowerment of women and gender equity and equality;
Education on sexual health;
Prevention of RTIs/STIs & HIV/AIDS;
Increase health seeking behavior;
Establish small family norms as a way of life;
Ensure sustainability of the program;
Emphasize on reproductive health care;
Encourage to provide healthy life style;
Ensure client friendly behavior of service providers.
